Can I Have A Bounce House At A Park?

Yes, you can have a bounce house at your local park. First get a list of approved Bounce House vendors from your local park officials. Some parks will not provide power, so you will need a Generator. You will also need to know if they allow stakes to be driven into the ground. If the Park does not allow stakes the Inflatable company will provide Sandbags.

Renting a Bounce House at a City of Tampa Park

If you’re renting at one of the City of Tampa Parks, Sandbags must be used per the City of Tampa. The City of Tampa parks and recreation

do not allow any bounce house companies to drive stakes into the ground.

However we can still anchor the bounce house properly with sandbags.

Power

The city of Tampa Parks and Recreation do not allow us to use their power. You will need to rent a generator for your bounce house rental.

Green Space

The city of Tampa Also requires that you rent a green space from them for the use of a bounce house. You must have a shelter reservation and pay a green space fee of $25 plus tax to have an Inflatable Bounce House. Both need to be done by Thursday 4 p.m. for the upcoming reservation week (Saturday- Friday).

Bounce Houses are not allowed at Ballast Point, Cypress Point, Riverfront and Water Works Parks.

Reservations

You can find the online reservation form here (https://www.tampagov.net/special-events-coordination/programs/picnic-shelters)

Please be sure to ask that the space be “bounce house approved,” the rangers are strict when it comes to inflatables.

Paperwork for the Bounce House

The day of your event you will also want to have your green space rental paperwork in hand. There have been instances where Rangers have refused an inflatable to be set up because the customer did not have the paperwork on hand. A lot of times the park rangers only have the paperwork that  was given to them, so the day of your event they most likely will not have the latest information. This is why it is important that you print your paperwork and have it with you when you arrive.
